CAD Design Software offers the Edge/Solid Designer Capture allowing you to create Ansoft® and Pro-E® compatible Boundaries from DXF Files and prepare 2D drawing data for use in Ansoft’s Maxwell software.
The CDS Edge/Solid Designer Capture provides powerful tools to convert overlapping solid entities to composite outlines.
The Makeedge program converts many overlapping entities to a single 0-width closed polyline boundary. The boundaries may be exported in DXF format to analysis software such as ANSOFT or PRO Engineer. The Lineclean and Autojoin commands may be used to clean up lines and join them into closed boundaries. It removes overlapping and duplicate lines and arcs. Boundary data may be converted to fill data using the Flood, Filledge and Fillblock commands. This converts polyfill type data to vector fill type data.

- Acute - Checks for acute angles under 45 degrees
- ArcVect - Vectors true AutoCAD arcs, lines up vectors on superimposed areas on different layers
- Autojoin - Joins line segments into closed polylines automatically
- Clean - Trims and erases entities inside or outside a closed polyline
- Filledge - Converts closed 0-width polylines to thick polyline fills
- Fillblk - Fills 0-width boundaries inside blocks with thick polylines
- Flood - Fills closed 0-width boundaries and voids with thick polylines
- Ihatch - Hatches entities individually that are selected by group
- Joinchk - Checks selected polylines to see if they are closed
- Lclean - Eliminates duplicate and 0-length lines and merges overlapping line segments
- Makeedge - Draws 0-width closed polyline edges around many overlapping entities
- Offsets - Converts 0-width polylines into thick polylines as fills or voids
