The SIMLINK SONNET interface is an add-on module to CAD Design Software Suites.
This interface, executed from within CAD Design Software, exports entities on selected CDS
layers and writes a .SON file for use with SONNET® analysis software.
The SIMLINK SONNET interface can be used in conjunction with any CAD Design Software Suite, but is ideal for use with PCB Designer Suite and RF Designer Suite. These suites automate all types of PCB and RF (Analog/Digital/Wireless/Microwave) designs.
 CAD Design Software Design Environment
Once your layout is done in CDS, run a complete NetChk (Capture PCB Netlist and Compare PCB Netlist to Reference Netlist) on the design.
Run the EPD2SON command and the Level/Layer Mapping Configuration dialog box appears.
Select the layers to export to SONNET for analysis. The entities on the selected layers will be exported for analysis. You can use the Select by Picking button to select entities on the screen. When done, pick Export and the entities will be exported to a .SON file.
 SONNET® Environment
Once the conversion is complete, read the .SON file into SONNET to perform the analysis.
